A2i+ Immersion Week

A Career-Ready Conference for Graduate Students. Two Tracks - One Conference.

About A2i+ Immersion Week 2026

Immersion Week is NC State’s premier career-readiness conference designed specifically for graduate students and postdocs preparing for meaningful careers beyond academia. This year, we are expanding Immersion Week into a dynamic, conference-style experience featuring two tailored tracks:

  • Humanities, Social Sciences, and Education Track
  • STEM Track

Across both tracks, participants engage in high-impact learning, skills-based workshops, and direct interaction with employers who actively hire graduate-level talent.

Who Can Apply

Immersion Week is open to NC State graduate students, and postdocs.
The program runs annually in the Spring, with applications opening January 5, 2026.

Why Participate? Your Return on Investment

Immersion Week is built around the competencies employers value most in today’s skills-based hiring landscape. By the end of the week, participants will:

  • Explore Career Paths With Confidence: Learn from professionals across industry, government, and non-profit sectors as they share their career journeys, job functions, and insights into navigating the modern workforce.
  • Translate Your Graduate Training Into Marketable Skills: Understand how your research, writing, teaching, and analytical experiences directly align with what employers are seeking—and practice articulating those strengths clearly and confidently.
  • Build Your Professional Network: Connect with recruiters, hiring managers, alumni, and partners who are invested in hiring graduate talent. These conversations often lead to informational interviews, mentorship, and job opportunities
  • Gain Hands-On Experience Through Applied Learning: Participate in real-world case studies, team-based challenges, communication exercises, and feedback sessions that mirror tasks performed in non-academic roles.
  • Strengthen Core Professional Competencies: From project management and leadership to communication and workplace culture, students leave with practical skills that are immediately applicable to internships, fellowships, and full-time roles.
