Program Actions

Program Actions refers to the initiation or the modification of a graduate program. Similar to courses, program actions are initiated through one of the following Course Inventory Management form databases: Course Inventory Management for Programs (CIM Programs) and Miscellaneous Request Management.

Before submitting a program action, it would be beneficial to review the following:

Accelerated Bachelors/Masters (ABM)A subplan that allows exceptional undergraduate students at NC State an opportunity to complete the requirements for both the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at an accelerated pace

A consultation with the Graduate School is required prior to the submission of a program action form.

All existing and in progress graduate program actions can be viewed through Course Inventory Management for Programs (CIM Programs). All program actions must be initiated and processed using CIM Programs as of Fall 2021. CIM access requires logging in with your NC State unity ID and password.

All existing and in progress program actions that are not related to a specific graduate program will be submitted through CIM Miscellaneous Request Forms. CIM access requires logging in with your NC State unity ID and password.

  • New Academic Organizations

Program Action Approval Workflows

The Program Action approval workflows for both CIM Programs and Miscellaneous Request Forms are similar to the workflow generated through CIM for Courses. These workflows are generated by the Academic Organization(s) associated with the program actions. The New Academic Organization form is generated by the college it is associated with.

CIM Programs request type forms are determined by the approval workflow.
