Advising Holds

Advising Holds are holds that are placed on students’ accounts that restrict them from enrolling until they have completed term advisement. Advising Holds can be released individually or in batch by Directors of Graduate Programs (DGPs) and Graduate Service Coordinators (GSCs). 

Navigate to Batch Release Advising Holds

MyPack Portal > Student Information System homepage > Advising tile > Batch Advisor Assignment OR Student Advisor

1. Log into MyPack Portal
2. Select the Student Information System homepage
3. Select the ‘Advising’ tile

4. On the left hand navigation bar, select ‘Advising Hold Release-Admin’
5. Enter the Program and Plan and select ‘Search’

A list of students with advising holds for the specific program/plan entered will show:

1.To release all holds, select “Select All”
2. To release holds for specific students, use the checkbox column to check-off the students whose holds should be released
3. Select “Release Selected Holds” to process the action 

Navigate to Individually Release an Advising Hold

MyPack Portal > Student Information System homepage > Advising tile or Student Records tile > ‘Student Services Center’ menu item

1. Log into MyPack Portal
2. Select the ‘Student Information System’ homepage
3. Select the ‘Advising’ tile or the ‘Student Records’ tile
4. On the left hand navigation bar, select ‘Student Services Center’
5. Enter the Student’s ID number or name and select ‘Search’
6. In the ‘Holds’ section select ‘Release’ to release the term advisement hold for the individual student
