Training Opportunities

New DGPs and GSCs may use the checklist below to get started in their role and find contact information for training.

New DGP/GSC Checklist

  • If you have not already done so, follow the Accessing Systems instructions to get the access you need
  • Sign up for the GSSP/Grad Student HR listserv
    • Note: You will be added to the Graduate School’s general DGP/GSC listserv when your system access is approved
  • Meet with Bailey Southard (brsoutha@ncsu.edu) for Slate (admissions) training
  • Meet with your Graduate School Liaison for SIS (student records) training
  • If you will be entering graduate student appointments (i.e. RA/TA), contact Richard Corley (gradschool-assistantships@ncsu.edu) for training
    • Note: Requests for HR-related services and NextGen support should be sent through this Graduate Inquiry Form
  • If students in your program(s) are eligible for GSSP, contact Dare Cook (decook@ncsu.edu) for training
  • Review the various tools and guides on the DGP & GSC Resources page
  • Attend the DGP/GSC workshops held every August
    • View upcoming and past meeting information here
  • Read the “DGP/GSC Update” emails that are sent from the Graduate School at the beginning of each month
    • Important deadlines and updates for that month are shared in each newsletter
  • Attend DGP/GSC Town Halls during the academic year
    • These meetings are hosted by the Graduate School Dean via Zoom; the Dean provides information and updates regarding graduate education at NC State and includes guest speakers from other offices on campus
